If you keep your tea in an airtight container and then store your container in a dark, cool, dry place free from strong odors, you will likely consume it before any degradation in aroma or taste occurs. 把茶叶存放在密封的容器后,将其放于避光通风干燥处,使之避免接触强烈气味,并在茶叶香味和滋味变差前饮用。

When we talk about a tea deteriorating, we are mostly talking about oxidation. 我们说茶叶变差主要是指氧化。

For teas that are allowed to oxidize during production, especially those that are purposely heavily oxidized, there is much less potential for oxidation to continue.对加工过程中需氧化,尤其是有意使其发生强氧化作用的茶叶而言,后面不太可能继续氧化。

  • 陈茶的存放 Storing Tea to be Aged

The goal of aging a tea is to allow the tea to change over time in order to increase its palatability. 茶叶陈化的目的是让茶叶发生变化,时间越往后风味越来越好。

When teas are stored in an airtight vessel, the ambient oxygen left in the container allows the tea to slowly oxidize over time. 茶叶存放在密封容器中,容器里残留的氧使茶叶随着时间缓慢氧化。

A controlled level of moisture is employed to influence the aging during storage. 一定程度的水分可影响存储过程中的陈化。

In this case, over time, the tea leaves undergo a combination of fermentation and oxidation. 如此,茶叶随着时间推移既进行发酵又处于氧化状态。

  • 非陈茶的存放 Storing All Other (Non-Aged) Teas
  • 空气的影响:

1. Airtight does not mean air-free. 密封并不意味着没有空气。

2.Some teas come prepackaged in vacuum sealed bags; it is typical for ball-style wulongs to be packaged in this manner. 一些茶用真空密封袋预先包装好,典型的例子是球状乌龙茶。

3. For teas that are more delicate, the packages may be flushed with nitrogen while they are sealed. 对于易受损的茶叶,可以用袋装充氮气的方式密封。

  • 温度的影响:

1.Some delicate green and yellow teas are best if stored in the freezer or refrigerator; the cold temperatures dramatically slow down oxidation reactions. 一些易受损的绿茶和黄茶最好放在冰箱或冷藏室,低温可以极大地降低氧化反应。

2. Before you put the packages in the freezer, squeeze as much air out as possible; any remaining air will condense and cause moisture to develop on the leaf surface.茶叶袋放冰箱前,尽可能赶走袋里的空气;任何残留的空气都可能冷凝并在茶叶表面形成水分。

3. The most important thing to remember when using cold storage for teas is that when you remove a packet from the freezer or refrigerator, do not open it until it has reached room temperature. 最重要的需注意是对于冷藏的茶叶,将其从冰箱或冷藏室取出后,需放置常温再开封。

4. This will prevent any condensation from occurring as the leaves come up to room temperature. 这样将防止茶叶恢复至常温时产生任何冷凝。
