华裔曾对美国的进步作出过巨大贡献。现如今，在中美贸易紧张关系不断升级的背景下，华裔作为少数群体，在中美关系中究竟扮演着怎样的建设性角色？在双边关系日益恶化的背景下，这个群体将面临着怎样的挑战？在特朗普领导下的美国政府又将如何对待华裔？
6月27日上午十点， CCG将在北京总部举办一场相关议题的演讲，主讲人为美国百人会主席Frank Wu教授。百人会会长Frank Wu教授本身也是一位杰出的法学教授，他曾任加州大学黑斯廷斯法学院院长，是加州历史上首位亚裔和华裔法学院院长。身为百人会会员的恒隆地产董事长、CCG联席主席陈启宗先生也将作为特邀嘉宾与Frank Wu就该话题进行深入探讨。
美国百人会是美国华裔社区最负盛名和最有影响力的团体，其宗旨是促进中美两国人民的相互了解及推动美国华裔全面融入美国社会。其中贝聿明、杨振宁、杨致远、李开复、吴宇森、李昌钰、谭盾等均为百人会成员。
陈启宗先生是CCG联席主席，恒隆地产董事长、美国百人会会员。陈启宗先生还是亚非协会理事，美国对外关系委员会、美中关系全国委员会等机构成员。他曾任世界经济论坛理事会、美国东西方文化中心、太平洋国际政策协会等机构的成员。

The Experience of the Committee of 100
Chinese-Americans have made tremendous contributions to American progress. Today, prominent Chinese-American scientists, professors, innovators, investors, professionals, artists, … are more important agents of bridge-building in US-China relations than ever, in the context of the escalating trade tensions between the world’s two largest economies. How do Chinese-Americans, as a minority group, play a constructive role in US-China relations? What kind of challenges do they face in the midst of deteriorating bilateral relations? What does the future of American politics under the Trump administration bode for Chinese-Americans?
On June 27, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) is honored and pleased to host a public event featuring Professor Frank Wu, the president of the Committee of 100, the most prestigious and influential group in the Chinese-American community in the United States. A distinguished law professor and a charismatic speaker, he will bring to the audience a thoughtful and engaging presentation.

Speaker
Frank H. Wu is currently a Distinguished Professor at University of California Hastings College of Law. He previously served as Chancellor & Dean at the school. Before joining UC Hastings, he was a member of the faculty at Howard University, the nation’s leading historically black college/university (HBCU), for a decade. He served as Dean of Wayne State University Law School in his hometown of Detroit, and he has been a visiting professor at University of Michigan; an adjunct professor at Columbia University; and a Thomas C. Grey Teaching Fellow at Stanford University. He taught at the Peking University School of Transnational Law in its inaugural year.
He is dedicated to civic engagement and volunteer service. In April 2016, he was elected by the members of Committee of 100 as their Chair; then in February 2017, the Board named him as the group’s first-ever President. C100 is a non-profit membership organization based in New York City and professionally staffed. He was appointed by the federal Department of Education to its National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI), which advises the administration on higher education accreditation. He served on the Board of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund from 2004 to 2010.
Professor Wu is the author of Yellow: Race in America Beyond Black and White, and co-author of Race, Rights and Reparation: Law and the Japanese American Internment.
Prior to his academic career, he held a clerkship with the late U.S. District Judge Frank J. Battisti in Cleveland and practiced law with the firm of Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco – while there, he devoted a quarter of his time to pro bono work on behalf of indigent clients. He received a B.A. from the Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. with honors from the University of Michigan.
Professor Wu is currently spending the summer in Shenzhen teaching American law at the prestigious School of Transnational Law (STL) at the Peking University.
