公共空间遍布在世界的每个角落，花园、公园、街道、广场……我们几乎每天都会见到或者使用它们。但大部分时候我们都忽略了公共空间带给我们的真正价值。在城市化高速发展的今天，越来越多的公园被高层建筑所占据。人们开始意识到绿地和城市开放空间的重要性。所以，思考如何重新利用公共空间，对于街道,公园和户外空间的设置，甚至对于建筑本身的发展都是十分重要的。而更重要的是，如何通过建筑关注到人类本身进而塑造更多的公共空间。
In the past，public space like gardens, parks, streets, squares and so on could be seen and used by people everywhere. All kinds of these public space seem so familiar that sometimes we may ignore the true meaning of them. Nowadays, the cities develop at an incredible speed and many high-rise architectures occupied the original park in the past. People begin to realize the importance of some greenland and urban open space in the city. Therefore, it is crucial to rethink how to reuse the public space not only in the street, park and some outdoor space but also in the architecture.

THE PLATFORM
The mix of Structure and Terrain
平台是建筑中的重要元素，尤其是在户外空间中。平台的设立有助于增强了人与人之间互相沟通，也促进了人类与大自然更加亲近。这个设计位于住宅区内，周围还有一个名为No.5 Electronic的实验室。考虑到不同用户群对于居住的要求，如何为他们提供一个舒适的空间就成了设计中的主要问题。因此这个设计利用通过利用社区中的荒地和地形创造了不同高度的平台，以满足不同类型住户的需求。
The platform, which is a vital element in buildings especially in some outdoor space, helps people have the chance to get to nature and also enhance the possibility of communicating with each other. This design locates in a residential block and it is also surrounded by a science park named No.5 Electronic Research Laboratory. The design makes the use of the wasteland and terrain in the community and creates different altitude of the platform, making it possible to for different kinds of people to have fun in it.

作为一个图书馆，它不仅可以用来阅读和借阅书籍，还可以作为市民的绿地。图书馆位于新城轴线旁，是白云新城的标志性建筑。市民和游客可以在这里阅读和借阅书籍，也可以品上一杯茶欣赏飞翔公园的风景。
As a library, it is not only for reading and borrowing books but also for being Greenland for citizens. Located by the new town axis, the library is the landmark of the Baiyun New Town. Citizens and travelers could read and borrow books here as well as enjoying the scenery of Feixiang park over a cup of tea. At the same time, the flowers, the plants, the singing birds would surround them if they read and play outdoors, on the grassy slope.
三楼的景观中庭给读者和学生提供了良好的阅读环境。有些孩子可以坐在草地上进行阅读。
The landscape atrium on the third floor allows readers and students to enjoy a good reading environment. Some children can even sit on the grass to do some reading.
二楼的走廊装饰着绿植和鲜花等自然元素。窗户外是一个小型园景庭院。室内和室外模糊的界限使读者能够更直观地享受外面的景观。
The corridor on the second floor is decorated with some natural elements like trees and flowers. The outside window is a little landscaped courtyard. Blurred boundaries of indoor and outdoor enable readers to enjoy the vibe outside.
这个视角来自二楼的入口。游客们可以很好地看到内部空间，包括功能空间和入口走廊上的园景中庭。我们可以看到建筑内的许多人的活动，这将会带给用户一种灵动的感觉。
The view is from the entrance of the second floor. Visitors could have a good sight of the interior space including the functional boxes space and the landscaped atrium on the corridor of the entrance. Also, we can see many people activities in the area, which make the atrium more flexible and energetic.
