9月17日上午，在2022中国浙江·宁波人才科技周开幕式上，宁波市人才战略咨询委员会正式成立， 宁波诺丁汉大学副校长、理工学院院长吴韬教授被任命为委员之一。
作为宁波高端智库，宁波市人才战略咨询委员将在参谋智囊、决策咨询、评估论证等方面发挥重要作用，该委员会也将提升宁波人才工作决策科学化、民主化水平，让人才工作的“智含量”更浓更高。
■ 据悉，该委员会市内委员由宁波市重点行业领域、拥有国际视野、对人才工作有深度理解、热心服务宁波人才工作高质量发展，且在宁波市学术界、企业界及其他社会各界有一定影响力的院士、专家及企业家等组成。首届宁波人才战略咨询委员会大咖云集，由中国工程院院士、中科院宁波材料所科技委主任薛群基担任主任委员，此外还有不少业内顶流专家和本土卓越企业家。
吴韬教授凭借其卓越的国际视野、30年的科研与人才培养经历、和热心服务宁波人才引进工作所取得的成就，受邀成为首届委员会中的一员。
吴韬教授作为英国皇家化学学会会士、英国材料、矿物与矿业学会会士，深耕能源化工与环境工程领域30年。一直以来，他致力于废弃物资源化处置与污染综合治理的产业化技术研发，参与40余项科技部国家重点研发计划项目、国家国际合作重点项目、省市级以及欧盟和英国相关科研项目，获得专利授权10余项，取得了较为突出的产业化成果。
2007年，吴韬教授回国，即来到宁波诺丁汉大学工作，多年来获得多项杰出科研成果和学术成就，入选浙江省级重点人才工程人才。作为国际化高端人才，他深知引进国际人才对科研的重要性。吴韬带领诺丁汉大学卓越灯塔计划（宁波）创新研究院在引育国际人才和科创资源方面取得不少成就。
在他的带领下，灯塔研究院面向全球揽才，在智能制造、绿色化工与能源、生命健康三个领域迅速组建起理念一致、专业对路、研究能力强的人才队伍。其中，外籍人才比例超六成。
迄今为止，灯塔研究院已经吸引了20余位来自世界一流大学的专家学者加盟研究院，首批19个实验室已经启用，产业化成果也逐渐显现。
谈及未来发展，吴韬表示，灯塔研究院将持续构筑国际高层次人才蓄水池，为宁波和浙江人才引进做增量，而他本人也希望通过人才战略咨询委员会，为宁波市人才工作提供战略性、全局性、专业性高端智力支持。
UNNC professor selected as Ningbo Talent Strategy Advisory Committee member
On 17 September, the Ningbo Talent Strategy Advisory Committee was inaugurated at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Ningbo Talents Science and Technology Week Zhejiang China. Professor Tao Wu, Vice Provost for China Beacons Institute, Dean of Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was elected as a committee member.
As a high-end think tank, the committee will play a key role in decision-making consultation and talent cultivation in Ningbo. Committee members are composed of academicians, experts and entrepreneurs in Ningbo’s key industries. The members are prominent in Ningbo’s academic and business circles, share an international perspective and have a collective understanding of the need for talent cultivation.
Professor Tao Wu has been working at UNNC since 2007, and has achieved outstanding scientific research and academic achievements over this period. As a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, Professor Tao Wu has been deeply involved in chemical and environmental engineering for the past 30 years. He has continuously been committed to the research and development of energy conversion technology, wastewater treatment and air pollution control. He has completed over 40 research projects funded by both agencies and industry and has obtained more than 10 patent authorisations.
Professor Tao Wu understands the importance of introducing international talents into the research community. Since last year, he has led the China Beacons Institute to attract world-class talent along with an influx of global science and technology resources. Under his leadership, the China Beacons Institute has recruited talented individuals from all over the world and formed professional teams in the three fields of intelligent manufacturing, green chemicals and energy, and life science and healthcare.
Speaking of future development, Professor Tao Wu said that the China Beacons Institute will continue to build an international high-level talent pool and lead the way with innovative research in Ningbo and Zhejiang. He also hopes his new role as member of the Talent Strategy Advisory Committee will put him in optimal position to provide further professional support to Ningbo’s talent pool.
